On June 6th, the conference room of Treezo Group was filled with distinguished guests as the Welcome Conference for Academician Duguanben's Joining Treezo Academician Workstation and the China Academy of Forestry (CAF)-Treezo Group Innovative Cooperation Seminar were grandly held.

The conference brought together experts and scholars including Academician Duguanben from Southwest Forestry University, Professor Yang Long, Guo Wenjing (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Institute of Wood Industry, CAF), Duan Xinfang (Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Wood-Based Panels Standardization, Director of the Standardization and Industrial Policy Research Office of the Institute of Wood Industry, CAF, and Research Fellow), Tang Zhaoqun (Director of the Information Center of the Institute of Wood Industry, CAF and Editor-in-Chief of China Wood-Based Panels), Zhang Yuping (Editorial Director of China Wood-Based Panels), Li Yumin (Editor-in-Chief of World Bamboo and Rattan Newsletter), and Feng Pengfei  (Integrated Media Center) of World Bamboo and Rattan Newsletter). Leaders from the Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology (HAST), including Zhu Yuanyuan (Director of the Academician and Expert Center), Yang Fan (Member of the Party Leadership Group, Vice Chairman, and Secretary-General of the Yuhang District Association for Science and Technology), Ren Shan (from HAST's Academician and Expert Center), Lu Xiaoying (Deputy Director of the Academician and Expert Service Center of Yuhang District Association for Science and Technology), and Commissioner Qian Zhipeng, attended to witness this milestone in industry-university-research collaboration. Treezo Group's leaders present included Tian Maohua (Executive General Manager and Chairman of Treezo Group Science and Technology Association), Ma Tonghua (Party Secretary, Deputy General Manager, and Executive Vice Chairman of Treezo Group Science and Technology Association), and Wei Renzhong (Executive Deputy Dean of the Technology Research Institute and Vice Chairman of Treezo Group Science and Technology Association).

Academician Joining: Hand in Hand to Start a New Chapter

At the beginning of the conference, Tian Maohua, Executive General Manager of Treezo Group, delivered a welcome speech, extending warm greetings and heartfelt thanks to the visiting experts and scholars. Mr. Tian noted that with the professional guidance of Academician Du and other experts, Treezo Group would gain stronger support to fulfill its mission of "Creating Healthy Homes and Leading Quality Life," continuously driving innovation and application of green and healthy living technologies. The Group will always adhere to its original aspiration of "Crafting a Good Panel for the People," strengthening its health-oriented foundation supported by technological functions and building a stylish characteristic empowered by cultural aesthetics. Through innovation-driven approaches, it will enhance product quality and efficiency, truly creating panels that are both internally and externally excellent, providing consumers with products that integrate health and aesthetics.

As a Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Academician Duguanben has made outstanding contributions in the field of wood science and technology. His joining will inject strong impetus into Treezo Group's scientific research and innovation. During the academician workstation joining ceremony, Mr. Tian and Academician Du officially signed the workstation entry agreement, and Mr. Tian presented the appointment letter for Treezo's in-station academician to Academician Du. Leaders and experts jointly took the stage to witness this important moment. Subsequently, Academician Du delivered a speech, stating that the establishment of the workstation was just the starting point of the cooperation, with a long road ahead. He expressed confidence that through joint efforts, both parties would achieve more breakthroughs in green panels and new biomass materials, provide a satisfactory answer to the proposition of "how to make a good panel," inject new momentum into Treezo's development, and contribute more to the prosperity of China's wood processing industry. Academician Du also delivered a keynote report titled Whole Industrial Chain Technological Innovation in Custom Home Furnishing Industry—Reflections on the Development of Particleboard Industry, sharing his cutting-edge research achievements and valuable experience in wood science, offering an intellectual feast to the attendees.

Leaders from HAST and Yuhang District Association for Science and Technology paid a visit to Academician Duguanben, inquiring about his work and life, and expressing heartfelt gratitude for his long-term care and support for Yuhang enterprises. Yang Fan, Vice Chairman of Yuhang District Association for Science and Technology, introduced to Academician Du Yuhang's long history as the birthplace of Liangzhu Culture and the new progress in regional economic and social development, and sincerely invited Academician Du to visit and guide Yuhang more often to deepen exchanges and cooperation.

Innovative Seminar: Collaborative Innovation Bred Fruits

The conference then entered its second agenda: the "CAF-Treezo Group Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation Seminar," focusing on industry-university-research collaboration and achievement release.

First, the Treezo Special Issue of China Wood-Based Panels was officially launched. Tang Zhaoqun, Director of the Information Center of CAF's Institute of Wood Industry and Editor-in-Chief of China Wood-Based Panels, detailed the special issue's core content, stating that this collaboration provided a foothold for green technological breakthroughs and the implementation of the "Double Carbon" strategy. CAF and Treezo would work together to promote industry technological innovation and high-quality development. At the meeting, representative authors of the special issue shared their thoughts, expressing recognition and gratitude toward China Wood-Based Panels.

Subsequently, the signing ceremony for the Treezo Special Issue of World Bamboo and Rattan Newsletter was held. After Li Yumin, Editor-in-Chief, introduced the journal, he signed a special issue strategic cooperation agreement with Deputy General Manager Ma Tonghua, further expanding the depth and breadth of cooperation between the two parties.

In addition, a scientific research commissioner appointment ceremony was held, where Deputy General Manager Ma Tonghua issued an appointment letter to Secretary-General Duan Xinfang as a scientific research commissioner, aiming to strengthen the close integration of scientific research and industry and promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements.

Guo Wenjing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of CAF's Institute of Wood Industry, stated that the cooperation between CAF and Treezo had yielded fruitful results, and this event marked a new stage in the form and depth of their collaboration. She highly affirmed the prospects of the cooperation and expressed high expectations for Treezo's future development.

On behalf of Treezo Group, Deputy General Manager Ma Tonghua extended the warmest welcome to Academician Duguanben's joining and expressed heartfelt thanks to Academician Jiang Jianchun (another in-station academician) for his significant contributions to Treezo's scientific and technological innovation. He emphasized that this conference was a major opportunity and a heavy responsibility for Treezo Group. After the meeting, accompanied by Treezo's leaders, the guests visited Treezo's Muben Museum and Mohe Society, experiencing Treezo's integration of technology and culture and gaining an in-depth understanding of the company's practical achievements in scientific research and development, green material applications, intelligent manufacturing, and terminal product innovation.

The successful holding of this grand event marks a solid step forward for Treezo Group in industry-university-research collaborative innovation. Academician Duguanben's joining has injected intellectual resources into Treezo's academician workstation, greatly enhancing the Group's original innovation capability and core competitiveness in wood science and wood-based panel technology.
